Etihad Starts Global Lounge Redesign With London Heathrow
Etihad Airways has announced a new generation of global lounges, beginning with a refurbished lounge at London Heathrow scheduled to open in summer 2027. Heathrow will be the first ground facility to use the airline’s Beyond Borders design language.
The concept is intended to connect the look and feel of Etihad’s aircraft, lounges and other premium touchpoints while allowing each location to retain its own character. The design draws on Abu Dhabi’s landscape and architecture through shared materials, textures, lighting and details.
The lounge programme forms part of Etihad’s broader $20 billion investment in aircraft and customer experience, which includes a $1 billion fleet retrofit. More lounge developments are planned after the Heathrow opening.
