Mubadala Agrees to Minority Investment in Luckin Coffee
Abu Dhabi investor Mubadala announced on 10 September 2026 that it had agreed to acquire a significant minority stake in Luckin Coffee alongside the Chinese coffee chain’s controlling shareholder, Centurium Capital. Mubadala described the wider transaction as having an aggregate value of about US$1 billion.
The investment reflects Mubadala’s interest in China’s consumer sector and in Luckin’s technology-led retail model. Luckin reported more than 36,000 stores globally as of 30 June 2026, according to the announcement.
The agreement remains subject to customary closing conditions. It is an investment announcement, not an indication of vacancies at Mubadala or Luckin. It illustrates the global scope of the Abu Dhabi company’s portfolio and its focus on consumer businesses.
