AWS Launches Lambda Web Functions for Standard Node.js Applications
Amazon Web Services has introduced AWS Lambda Web Functions, a deployment option that lets developers run standard Node.js HTTP applications on Lambda without converting their code into event handlers. AWS announced the service on 12 October 2026.
The launch supports frameworks including Express, Hono, Fastify and Next.js. AWS says a function environment can process multiple simultaneous requests, with configurable concurrency of up to 128, while customers are billed for active CPU use rather than request wait time.
At launch, Web Functions support Node.js 24 on Arm64 and are available in five AWS regions, including US East, US West, Asia Pacific Tokyo and Europe Ireland. The announcement concerns cloud infrastructure and does not indicate recruitment. Source: AWS.
