Job Description

Amazon Now is Amazon’s fast, local-commerce operation, and this Operations Executive role (open specifically to UAE Nationals as part of Amazon’s UAE Nationalisation / Emiratisation commitments) is a team-lead position inside Amazon Now’s fulfillment operations in Dubai. It sits within UFG – Amazon’s ultra-fast grocery/fulfillment group – managing the people and processes that get orders picked, packed, and out the door quickly.

As a team lead, the day-to-day mix is part people management and part operational execution: running a shift or team within the fulfillment process, hitting productivity and quality targets, solving problems as they come up on the floor, and reporting performance up to site leadership. Amazon’s operations roles are known for being metrics-heavy and fast-paced, with clear standard operating procedures that leads are expected to enforce and improve.

This is a strong entry point for a UAE National early in their operations or logistics career who wants exposure to how a world-class fulfillment operation actually runs on the ground, with a realistic path into broader operations management as they build track record. It rewards people who are comfortable leading a team under pressure, communicating clearly, and staying structured when things get busy.

Impact of the Job

Amazon Now exists to compete on speed - fast grocery and local delivery is a market where customer patience is measured in minutes, not days, and the operational execution behind it is what actually delivers on that promise. A team lead who runs their shift well, keeps productivity on target, and catches quality issues before they reach the customer is directly responsible for whether Amazon Now can actually deliver the fast, reliable experience it's promising in the Dubai market. This role also carries strategic weight for Amazon in the UAE specifically: it's part of the company's Emiratisation commitment, building a pipeline of UAE National operations leaders inside one of its highest-growth business lines. Getting that talent pipeline right matters both for meeting national hiring goals and for building genuinely capable local leadership inside Amazon's UAE operations as the business scales. It also signals to the UAE National workforce more broadly that genuine operational leadership opportunities exist inside major multinational employers, which matters for the credibility of Emiratisation programs across the private sector.

Job Seeker Benefit

Leading a team inside an Amazon fulfillment operation is a fast, practical education in operational leadership - the standards, the metrics discipline, and the problem-solving habits built here are the same ones used across Amazon's global operations network, widely regarded as one of the most rigorous in the world. A UAE National starting here gets early, real people-management responsibility, with the structure and training support of a huge global company behind them, which is a genuinely rare combination for an early-career operations role. Strong performers in team-lead roles typically progress into Area Manager or Senior Operations Manager positions, taking on larger teams and broader scope, and the operational discipline learned here - KPI management, process improvement, team leadership under pressure - is directly transferable to retail, logistics, and manufacturing operations across the UAE economy. Being part of Amazon's Emiratisation pipeline also means access to the kind of structured leadership development programs multinational companies build specifically to grow senior local talent, which can meaningfully accelerate a career compared to starting in a smaller operation without that infrastructure. It also gives early exposure to how a large multinational structures leadership development, which is a different and often more rigorous experience than starting a leadership career inside a smaller or less structured local business.
