Etihad and Southwest Plan Loyalty Partnership for Spring 2027

Etihad Airways and Southwest Airlines have announced a loyalty partnership that is scheduled to begin in spring 2027. The airlines disclosed the agreement on 16 October 2026.

Etihad Guest members will be able to earn miles on eligible Southwest flights and redeem miles for reward travel across Southwest’s network in the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Southwest Rapid Rewards members will gain corresponding earning and redemption options across Etihad’s international network.

The partnership expands the value of both programmes without amounting to a merger or confirming new routes. Detailed earning rates, redemption rules and eligible fare conditions have not yet been published, so members should check the programmes before booking. Source: Etihad Airways.
