Role Description
As Senior Lead Backend Engineer, you will be a key technical force in Fuse Energy’s engineering team in Dubai. You will architect and build the backend systems powering Fuse’s energy platform, lead technical decision-making, and help grow a high-performing engineering culture as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, high-availability backend systems and APIs
- Lead technical architecture discussions and drive engineering best practices
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers within the backend team
- Own delivery of complex technical projects end-to-end
- Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams
- Contribute to hiring and growing the Dubai engineering team
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience
- Expertise in one or more of: Python, Go, Node.js, or Java
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and distributed systems
- Experience designing microservices, event-driven architectures, and APIs at scale
- Prior lead or principal engineering experience preferred
- Energy sector or regulated industry experience is a plus
