Talabat, the MENA region’s most-loved food delivery and quick-commerce platform, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join its growing engineering hub in Dubai. Solve distributed-systems problems at massive scale — millions of orders, real-time routing, sub-second APIs.
About the Role
Design and maintain high-throughput microservices that underpin ordering, fulfilment and payment pipelines for millions of customers. You’ll be embedded in a product squad alongside data engineers, mobile engineers and product managers. The stack centres on Python and Go, running on Kubernetes in Google Cloud.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering with strong Python or Go expertise
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud-native deployment
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ) and caching (Redis)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases at production scale
- Strong ownership mindset — you define, build and maintain what you ship
