# Privacy Policy

*Effective date: 23 August 2026. This policy is drafted with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (the Personal Data Protection Law, “PDPL”) in mind, and will be reviewed by qualified counsel before public launch.*

## Who We Are

Get9to5jobs.com is currently operated by the Get9to5jobs team, prior to formal company incorporation. Once incorporated, this policy will be updated to name the registered legal entity as data controller. ## What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text). When you click “Apply Now” on a job listing while logged in, we record which job you applied to and when, so you can see your application history in your profile. If you opt in to receive job-alert or newsletter emails, we record that preference and your email address for that purpose.

## Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)

We process your account details on the basis of contractual necessity (to provide the account and job-search service you sign up for). We process marketing emails only on the basis of your explicit, opt-in consent, which you may withdraw at any time. We process cookie data on the basis of your cookie preferences, set via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.

## Marketing Emails

We only send job-alert or newsletter emails if you have opted in during sign-up or account settings. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time from your profile or by emailing us.

## Cookies

We use cookies for essential site functionality (keeping you logged in) and, where you have consented, for analytics and advertising. You can manage or withdraw cookie preferences at any time via the cookie banner or the “Cookie Preferences” link in the site footer.

## Where Your Data Is Stored

Our hosting infrastructure is currently located in the United States. Because this means your personal data may leave the UAE, we take steps to ensure it continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with PDPL requirements for cross-border data transfers. We will update this section with further detail as our hosting arrangements are finalized.

## How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain account data and job-application history for 365 days from your last activity on the site. After 365 days of inactivity, your account and associated application history are deleted or anonymized, unless you have an open legal or contractual matter requiring longer retention, or you ask us to delete it sooner.

## Third-Party Job Listings

Job listings link out to third-party company websites or application systems. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites once you leave Get9to5jobs.com.

## Your Rights

Under the PDPL, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; restrict or object to certain processing; and request a portable copy of your data. You can exercise most of these directly from your profile page, or by emailing [get9to5jobs@gmail.com](mailto:get9to5jobs@gmail.com). We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform and our legal entity status evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
