Majid Al Futtaim Says AI Agents Influence 9% of Customer Transactions
Majid Al Futtaim says artificial intelligence agents now play a role in 9% of its customer transactions. Chief executive Ahmed Galal Ismail disclosed the figure at the Sharjah Investment Forum on 14 October 2026.
The company uses AI agents alongside employees for tasks such as product recommendations, customer prompts and purchase guidance. Ismail said the number of AI agents operating across the group could eventually match the size of its office-based workforce.
The comments show how Majid Al Futtaim is moving AI from pilot projects into customer-facing retail operations. The percentage reflects transactions influenced by an AI agent and does not mean that 9% are completed without human involvement. The update does not confirm vacancies. Source: Gulf News.
