Jumeirah Accelerates Hotel Renovations as Burj Al Arab Upgrade Continues

Jumeirah Group says it completed two years of planned renovation work within a single year after using periods of lower activity to accelerate projects. Chief executive Thomas Meier outlined the programme at the RISE Summit in Dubai on 14 October 2026.

Some hotels were temporarily closed so the group could bring forward room, restaurant and concept upgrades. Jumeirah is now reopening and ramping up several properties ahead of the coming tourism season, while the Burj Al Arab renovation is expected to continue until the third quarter of 2027.

Meier also said Jumeirah is working with parent company Dubai Holding on staff support tools, enterprise AI systems and tailored operational applications. The update describes renovation and technology plans and does not confirm vacancies. Source: Khaleej Times.
