GEMS Education Adds 1,550 Teachers for 2026/27 as Dubai School Recruits

GEMS Education says 1,550 teachers have joined its schools for the 2026/27 academic year. In an announcement dated 31 August 2026, the UAE-based education group said the intake brings its educator workforce to more than 10,000 across its network.

The new teachers were recruited from both the UAE and overseas. GEMS said its teaching community spans more than 112 nationalities and that it receives more than 500,000 job applications a year. The group also reported that more than 40% of its principal appointments in the past 12 months were internal, pointing to a route from classroom roles into school leadership.

A current teaching opportunity in Dubai

GEMS’ careers site lists an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) teacher role at GEMS Founders School – Nad Al Hamar, Dubai. The vacancy was posted on 10 September 2026 for an October start and shows an application deadline of 30 September 2026. The school says it opened in August 2026 and is building its founding team.

The listing asks for a relevant education degree or a recognised teaching qualification, and welcomes both newly qualified and experienced teachers. Candidates should review the live vacancy and application details before applying; availability and requirements can change.

The 1,550 figure describes teachers who have already joined GEMS, not unfilled positions. The separate EYFS listing is one confirmed opening at the time of writing.
