Emaar Says Collection Rate Holds at 98% With AED 180 Billion Backlog
Emaar Properties founder and managing director Mohamed Alabbar said the developer maintained a 98% collection rate while its sales backlog stood at about AED 180 billion. He shared the figures at the Sharjah Investment Forum on 15 October 2026.
Alabbar said Emaar typically sells about 4,000 units a month and records roughly 600 cancellations. Cancellations temporarily rose to about 1,200 during a period of regional tension before falling back below 600, while collections remained at 98%, according to his remarks.
The backlog represents property sales that have yet to be recognised as revenue, rather than cash already received. The figures were management comments at the forum and should be read alongside Emaar’s formal financial disclosures. They do not confirm vacancies. Source: ARN News.
