Dubai Tests Autonomous Glydways Transit at Bluewaters

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has started a four-week trial of the Glydways automated transit system at Bluewaters, a Dubai Retail destination under Dubai Holding. The trial was announced on 12 October 2026.

The system uses small autonomous electric vehicles that operate on dedicated guideways and use artificial intelligence to manage movement. RTA is assessing the technology as a possible flexible option for first- and last-mile connections with the wider public transport network.

Bluewaters is serving as the test location, while RTA and Glydways are leading the mobility trial. The announcement does not confirm a permanent service, commercial launch or vacancies. Source: Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.
