Amazon Leo Adds Six Ariane 6 Launches to Satellite Deployment Plan

Amazon has added six Ariane 6 launches to its agreement with Arianespace for the Amazon Leo satellite network. The announcement, published on 10 September 2026, increases the contracted missions with the European launch provider from 18 to 24.

Arianespace has already carried 100 Amazon Leo satellites into orbit across three missions. Amazon says the additional launch capacity will help it build the low Earth orbit network intended to bring internet access to places beyond the reach of conventional infrastructure.

The agreement is a notable expansion of Amazon’s space and connectivity programme. It also gives Arianespace and its suppliers a longer planning horizon as Ariane 6 launch capacity grows. The announcement concerns a global programme; it does not identify any new UAE job openings.
