# Al Ghurair Foods to Supply UAE-Made Dextrose for Abu Dhabi Protein Facility

Al Ghurair Foods has agreed to supply UAE-produced dextrose syrup to a planned industrial protein-fermentation facility in Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Investment Office announced the memorandum of understanding during the PALT conference in October 2026.

Under the agreement with a consortium led by New Agrarian, Al Ghurair Foods will make the dextrose from its UAE corn-milling operations. The ingredient will provide a local carbon source for microorganisms used at the planned four-million-litre fermentation facility.

The arrangement is intended to strengthen the local alternative-protein supply chain and reduce dependence on imported production inputs. The project and supply volumes remain subject to development of the facility, and the announcement does not confirm vacancies.
