# Sr Regional, Pre-construction, GES – Amazon

Amazon’s Global Engineering Services (GES) team keeps the physical build-out of its UAE operations network moving — new fulfilment centres, sort centres, and delivery stations all pass through this group before a single parcel moves through them. A Senior Regional Pre-Construction role sits at the front of that pipeline: site scouting, due diligence, permitting, and design coordination, all before ground is broken.

Day to day, the person in this seat is the point of contact between Amazon’s internal stakeholders — real estate, design, legal, operations — and the external parties who make a site buildable: landlords, municipal authorities, architects, and civil contractors. That means tracking permit and approval timelines across UAE jurisdictions, flagging where a site’s zoning or utility capacity could delay a project, and keeping a live view of risk across however many sites are in the pipeline at once.

It suits someone comfortable chasing answers rather than waiting for them — someone who can read a site plan, push a government department for a permit update, and explain a schedule slip to a senior stakeholder in the same afternoon. Construction, real estate, or infrastructure experience in the UAE is the common thread; what Amazon is really hiring for is the judgment to resolve problems independently before they become delays.

## Requirements

- Experience in pre-construction, real estate development, or civil/infrastructure project management, ideally in the UAE or wider GCC

- Working knowledge of UAE municipal planning, permitting, and approval processes

- Ability to read architectural and civil drawings and flag feasibility issues early

- Strong stakeholder management across internal teams, landlords, and government bodies

- Comfortable tracking multiple sites and timelines in parallel with minimal supervision

- Clear written and verbal communication for reporting risk and status to senior stakeholders
