# Sr. Program Manager, Product Safety and Compliance team – Amazon

This Senior Program Manager role sits inside Amazon’s Product Safety and Compliance function, based out of Dubai and covering the wider MENA region. The team exists to make sure that everything Amazon sells or ships into the region actually clears the regulatory bar for that market, which in the Gulf and broader Middle East can mean anything from consumer electronics standards to chemical labelling rules to import documentation that changes by country. It is a policy and risk role wrapped around a very operational business, so the person in it has to be comfortable moving between a spreadsheet of open compliance cases and a room full of legal, retail, and technology stakeholders who all want a different answer.

Day to day, the job is about interpreting how regional safety and regulatory requirements apply to specific product categories and specific selling scenarios, then turning that interpretation into a workable process that the rest of the business can follow without a compliance background of their own. That means writing and maintaining playbooks, running audits of how policies are actually being followed on the ground, and building the kind of dashboards and metrics that let leadership see where risk is building up before it becomes a problem. A large part of the role is also stakeholder management: Selling Partner teams want listings live quickly, Legal wants exposure minimised, Customer Service needs to know what to tell a customer who received a recalled product, and this role has to keep all of those groups moving in the same direction.

It suits someone who has already spent a few years in compliance, regulatory affairs, quality, or trust-and-safety work, ideally somewhere with e-commerce or physical product complexity, and who is genuinely comfortable with ambiguity rather than just tolerant of it. Amazon’s compliance function moves fast and the regulatory landscape across the Gulf states is not static, so the role rewards someone who can build a defensible position from partial information rather than waiting for a perfect answer.

It is also a strong fit for someone who wants exposure to how a company of Amazon’s scale actually manages regulatory risk across borders, since the work touches almost every part of the business that puts a physical product in front of a customer.

## Requirements

- Several years of experience in regulatory compliance, product safety, quality assurance, or risk management, ideally in retail, e-commerce, or a regulated consumer goods environment

- Working knowledge of how product safety and import regulations are structured in the UAE and/or wider GCC markets

- Strong program management skills: the ability to run multiple compliance workstreams at once and track them to closure

- Experience working cross-functionally with legal, operations, and technology teams on policy interpretation and implementation

- Comfort with data: building and reading dashboards, audit trackers, and risk metrics

- Clear written and verbal communication, since much of the role involves translating regulatory language into operational guidance

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a background in law, engineering, or supply chain is a plus but not mandatory

## Suggested Resume Keywords

product safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, program management, GCC regulations, cross-functional stakeholder management, policy development, audit and controls, e-commerce compliance, quality assurance, trust and safety
