Abu Dhabi Full-time

Job Description

ADNOC Logistics & Services is looking for a Specialist, Logistics (Shipping) to join its shipping and maritime operations team in Abu Dhabi. This is a specialist-track role inside one of the region’s largest integrated logistics operations, supporting the movement of cargo and materials that keep ADNOC Group’s upstream and downstream sites running without interruption.

The day-to-day work centers on coordinating shipping schedules, vessel nominations, and cargo documentation across multiple ports and terminals, working closely with chartering, operations, and HSE teams to make sure every shipment clears the right checks before it moves. The role also involves tracking vendor and carrier performance against service agreements and flagging delays or cost overruns early enough that they can actually be fixed.

Because ADNOC’s logistics arm serves the entire group, this Specialist will regularly liaise with internal business units as well as external shipping agents, port authorities, and freight forwarders, so the ability to hold a firm line on compliance while still keeping relationships workable is central to doing the job well.

This is a good fit for someone who already has hands-on shipping or maritime logistics experience in the UAE or wider Gulf market and wants to work at the scale and complexity that only a national energy champion’s logistics arm can offer.

Impact of the Job

Shipping delays in an integrated energy logistics network don't stay contained to one shipment; they ripple into refinery schedules, terminal congestion, and vendor penalty clauses, so a Specialist who can keep cargo moving on time is protecting far more value than the line item on any single bill of lading suggests. ADNOC Logistics & Services exists precisely because ADNOC Group decided that shipping and maritime coordination deserved dedicated, specialist attention rather than being a side task for site operations teams, and this role sits right at that handoff point between commercial shipping decisions and physical cargo movement. Getting vendor performance tracking right also matters commercially: carriers and agents who consistently miss service levels cost the group money in demurrage, rebooking, and schedule slippage, and a Specialist who documents that performance accurately gives procurement and contracts teams the leverage they need at renewal time. There's also a safety and compliance dimension that's easy to underweight from the outside — cargo documentation errors in energy logistics can trigger port holds, regulatory scrutiny, or HSE incidents, so precision here is not administrative overhead, it's risk control. Done well, this role is one of the quieter reasons ADNOC's downstream and upstream operations can plan around reliable material and equipment flow instead of constantly firefighting logistics surprises.

Job Seeker Benefit

Joining ADNOC Logistics & Services puts a logistics professional inside the shipping function of one of the world's largest integrated energy companies, which is a meaningfully different environment from a standalone freight forwarder or third-party logistics provider — the cargo volumes, the port relationships, and the complexity of multi-site coordination are simply bigger here, and that scale is something a resume line can carry for years. Working shipping operations for ADNOC also means exposure to the commercial side of chartering and vendor contracts, not just the operational tracking, which broadens a logistics specialist's skill set beyond pure coordination into something closer to supply chain strategy. The UAE's position as a global shipping and trade hub means this role touches an unusually international set of ports, carriers, and regulatory regimes for a single posting, which is valuable experience for anyone aiming at a longer-term logistics or supply chain management career. ADNOC's scale also means there are real internal pathways from a Specialist role into senior logistics planning, vendor management, or broader supply chain functions across the group's many subsidiaries, so this isn't a dead-end operational post — it's often a deliberate entry point. Compensation and benefits at ADNOC Group companies are generally structured to be competitive within the UAE energy and logistics sector, and working at this scale also builds a professional network across shipping agents, terminal operators, and energy-sector logistics peers that tends to pay off well beyond this specific posting, wherever a career goes next.
