# Regional Environmental Manager, Environmental Assurance and Protection Team – Amazon

This role sits inside Amazon’s Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) field team, the group responsible for making sure Amazon’s operational sites — fulfilment centres, delivery stations, sort centres and similar facilities across a region — meet environmental regulatory requirements and the company’s own internal standards. A Regional Environmental Manager owns that oversight across a cluster of sites rather than a single building, which means the job is as much about building a repeatable system as it is about solving problems at any one location.

Day to day, expect a mix of site audits and inspections, tracking permits and regulatory filings, investigating and closing out environmental incidents (spills, waste handling issues, emissions concerns), and coaching site operations teams on what good practice looks like so problems get caught before they become compliance breaches. There’s a reporting and documentation layer too: keeping records audit-ready and feeding data up to regional and global EAP leadership. The role requires regular travel between sites within the region.

It suits someone who has worked in EHS (environment, health and safety), environmental compliance, or operational risk within a large logistics, manufacturing or industrial network, and who is comfortable being the person who has to say no to a shortcut when it matters. Amazon’s operations network is large and moves fast, so the role rewards people who can build practical, scalable processes rather than one-off fixes, and who can influence site managers and operations leaders without direct authority over them.

The appeal is scope and impact: a single improvement to how a site handles waste segregation or spill response, once standardised, can be rolled out across every site in the region — which gives this role leverage well beyond what the title alone suggests.

- Experience in environmental compliance, EHS, or environmental health and safety within an industrial, logistics or manufacturing network

- Strong written reporting skills for regulatory and internal documentation

- Ability to travel regularly between sites within the assigned region

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, occupational health, or a related field

- Ability to influence site operations teams without formal authority over them
