# Quality Specialist – Amazon Now – Amazon

Fresh food is the hardest part of quick commerce to get right, and this Quality Specialist role exists because Amazon Now’s grocery offering lives or dies on whether the meat, seafood, produce, and other perishables arriving at a customer’s door actually match what they ordered. The role is effectively building the quality function for this category from the ground up, since Amazon Now’s fresh grocery business is itself still new in the region.

Day to day, the work covers setting and checking quality standards at the point of sourcing and at the point of fulfillment: inspecting produce and protein handling, working with suppliers on freshness and consistency issues, and feeding customer complaint data back into where the process is breaking down. Because perishables have a short shelf life and zero tolerance for error on temperature or handling, a lot of the role is about catching problems before they reach a customer rather than reacting after the fact.

This is a role for someone who’s genuinely detail-oriented about physical product quality, not just comfortable with a checklist but willing to go and look at the produce itself, question a supplier’s handling process, and build a standard where one doesn’t exist yet. People who do well here tend to have some grounding in food quality, cold chain, or FMCG operations, paired with the patience to build structure in a business that’s still figuring out its own rules.

## Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in food science, supply chain, or a related field

- Experience in quality assurance, food safety, or cold-chain operations, ideally with fresh produce, meat, or seafood

- Comfortable setting new standards and processes in an area without an established playbook

- Strong attention to detail with physical product, not just documentation

- Able to work cross-functionally with sourcing, supplier, and operations teams

- Analytical enough to use complaint and defect data to find root causes
