# Physical Education Teacher – GEMS Education

This role plans, delivers, and evaluates the physical education curriculum across a GEMS school, with responsibility for the quality and safety of the overall PE experience for every pupil, likely spanning multiple year groups. Day to day, that means lesson planning aligned to curriculum standards, running classes safely across varied sports and activities, assessing pupil progress, and organizing inter-house or inter-school sports fixtures.

Beyond the classroom, PE teachers at a school this size are often central to the wider sports culture – coaching teams, running events, and helping build the kind of extracurricular program that shapes how pupils (and parents) experience the school beyond academics. Equipment and facility safety monitoring is a continuous, non-negotiable part of the role given the physical nature of the subject.

This suits a qualified PE teacher who enjoys both the structured classroom-and-field teaching and the broader school sport culture that comes with it.

It’s a strong fit for someone who wants to teach within a well-resourced international school environment with genuine opportunity to build out a sports program, not just deliver lessons.

## Requirements

- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent) with a PE specialism

- Prior PE teaching experience, ideally in a British or international curriculum school

- Strong classroom and pupil safety management skills

- Experience organizing school sports events or teams

- Genuine enthusiasm for pupil wellbeing and physical development

- UAE teaching license eligibility (or willingness to obtain one)

## Suggested Resume Keywords

physical education, PE teaching, curriculum delivery, school sports, pupil safety, classroom management, international curriculum, extracurricular coaching, UAE teaching license, pupil assessment
