# EV Service Technician – BYD Electric Vehicles – Al-Futtaim Group

Al-Futtaim Automotive’s BYD operation is part of the group’s push into electric vehicles across the UAE, and this EV Service Technician role is hands-on diagnostic and repair work specifically on BYD’s electric vehicle range – a different skill set from traditional combustion-engine servicing, built around battery systems, high-voltage safety, and EV-specific diagnostic software.

Day to day, the technician works through scheduled maintenance, warranty repairs, and diagnostic jobs on EVs coming through the workshop, following BYD’s technical standards and using manufacturer diagnostic tools to identify faults before they become bigger (and more expensive) problems for the customer. High-voltage system safety protocols are a constant part of the job, not an occasional add-on, given the nature of EV powertrains.

It suits a technician who already has solid automotive diagnostic fundamentals and is motivated to build specifically into EV servicing – a part of the automotive trade that’s growing quickly across the region as EV adoption increases. Al-Futtaim Automotive operates at genuine scale within Al-Futtaim Group, so there’s real depth of training and career structure behind what might otherwise look like a single workshop role.

## Requirements

- Recognized automotive technician qualification or equivalent hands-on diagnostic experience

- Experience with or strong willingness to train on EV-specific systems, including high-voltage safety protocols

- Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic software and workshop management systems

- Methodical, safety-first approach to fault-finding and repair

- Physical fitness for workshop-based technical work

- Clear communication skills for liaising with service advisors on job status and findings
