# Data Center Technician – 2027 Internship – Amazon

This is an internship aimed at the 2027 graduating class, placing students inside AWS’s Data Center Technician function in Dubai – the hands-on technical team responsible for keeping server hardware and the physical infrastructure around it running. It’s a structured early-career program rather than a general internship: interns get real exposure to how one of the world’s largest cloud providers operates its physical infrastructure.

Expect a mix of supervised hands-on technical work – hardware installation, cabling, basic troubleshooting of server and network equipment – and structured learning about data center operations, safety procedures, and the systems AWS uses to monitor and maintain its facilities. Interns typically work alongside experienced technicians and engineers, building both technical skill and an understanding of how a 24/7 critical-infrastructure operation is actually run.

It’s aimed at students studying electrical engineering, computer engineering, IT, or a related technical field who want practical, hands-on exposure to data center and cloud infrastructure before they graduate – and who see this as a possible route into a full-time AWS Data Center Technician or Engineer role afterward.

## Requirements

- Currently pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, IT, or a related technical field, graduating around 2027

- Genuine interest in hands-on hardware, networking, or critical infrastructure work

- Comfortable following strict safety and procedural guidelines in a technical environment

- Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, or electrical systems from coursework or personal projects

- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from experienced technicians

- Able to commit to the internship’s working hours on-site in Dubai
