# Data Center Technician – 2027 Internship – Amazon

This is a structured internship inside AWS’s Data Center Engineering Operations team in Dubai, aimed at students or early-career candidates who want hands-on exposure to how hyperscale data centres actually run, rather than a classroom view of the theory. Interns work alongside full-time Data Center Technicians and Facility Engineers, learning the real operational rhythm of a live, critical facility.

Expect to shadow and assist with routine monitoring of power, cooling and building management systems, support planned preventive maintenance tasks under supervision, help document procedures and findings, and gradually take on more independent troubleshooting work as the internship progresses and trust builds. It’s a learn-by-doing programme: the value is in being physically present on the data centre floor, not just observing from the sidelines.

It suits a student or recent graduate studying electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline, who is genuinely curious about critical infrastructure and willing to work shifts alongside the operational team. AWS’s internal standards for safety and precision are high even for interns, so the programme rewards people who take instruction seriously and ask good questions rather than those looking for a passive resume line.

The appeal is early, direct access to a part of the tech industry most people never see up close — the physical machinery behind the cloud — and a credible shot at a full-time Data Center Technician role afterward for interns who perform well.

## Requirements

- Currently studying, or recently graduated in, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field

- Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems from coursework or prior hands-on experience
