Job Description

This Continuous Improvement Specialist role sits within Amazon’s ACES function (Amazon Customer Excellence System), the internal team responsible for finding and fixing the inefficiencies that quietly cost an operation time, money, or quality across its last-mile and fulfillment network in the AMET region (Africa, Middle East, and Turkey). Based in Dubai, the role is less about running a shift and more about studying how shifts are run and making them measurably better.

Day to day, this looks like gathering operational data from delivery stations and fulfillment sites, identifying the root causes behind recurring problems (a missed-delivery pattern, a process bottleneck, an attendance or policy-compliance gap), and designing fixes that site teams can actually implement. It also involves making sure Amazon’s own operating policies, things like attendance tracking, are applied fairly and consistently across sites, which requires both analytical rigor and the people skills to get frontline managers on board with a change.

This role suits someone who is naturally drawn to the why-does-this-keep-happening question rather than the just-get-through-today one. It rewards people who are comfortable with structured problem-solving methods (Lean, Six Sigma, or similarly disciplined root-cause approaches), can read operational data fluently, and can communicate a case for change clearly enough that busy operations managers actually act on it.

For someone who wants exposure to how a company at Amazon’s scale systematically improves itself, this is a strong vantage point, continuous improvement work here isn’t a side project, it’s a core discipline with real budget and real attention behind it.

Impact of the Job

Every operational inefficiency that goes unaddressed at scale, a recurring missed delivery pattern, an attendance-tracking gap, an inconsistent process between two sites, quietly compounds into cost, risk, or customer dissatisfaction across Amazon's AMET footprint. The Continuous Improvement Specialist is the person tasked with finding those patterns before they become expensive habits and designing fixes that actually survive contact with a busy delivery station or fulfillment site. This is not a cosmetic reporting role: the recommendations this person makes get implemented on real operating floors and are expected to move real numbers, whether that is delivery accuracy, policy compliance, or operational cost. Because the role also covers fair and consistent application of policies like attendance tracking, it has a direct bearing on how equitably frontline staff across different sites are treated, which matters both for morale and for Amazon's own standards of operating integrity. Done well, this work is a multiplier, a single well-diagnosed fix, rolled out across several sites in the region, can save far more time and cost than any one operator could on their own.

Job Seeker Benefit

Working in ACES is, in effect, an apprenticeship in how a world-class operations organization actually improves itself at scale, not through slogans, but through structured diagnosis, data, and disciplined follow-through. That is a rare and highly portable skill set: the ability to walk into a messy operational problem, find its actual root cause, and build a fix that survives real-world implementation is valued in almost every industry that runs physical operations, retail, manufacturing, aviation, healthcare logistics, and beyond. This role also builds genuine regional exposure, working across sites in the AMET footprint means learning to adapt improvement approaches to different markets, cultures, and operating conditions, which is a maturing experience for anyone early in an operations or strategy career. The influencing skills required here, getting a busy, numbers-driven operations manager to adopt a change they didn't ask for, are arguably harder to build than the technical analysis itself, and they translate directly into future leadership and consulting-style roles. For a resume, continuous improvement experience at Amazon carries real weight because the company's operational rigor is widely respected, and the methodologies learned here (Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis) are internationally recognized credentials that stay relevant well beyond this one employer, and the habit of backing every recommendation with data is one that serves a career long after the specific tools change.
