# Cinema Service Engineer – Majid Al Futtaim

MAF Entertainment’s cinema business depends on equipment most moviegoers never think about: digital projection systems, cinema-grade audio, networking infrastructure, and the backend systems that tie it all together, and when any of it fails mid-screening, it’s immediately and visibly a problem. The Cinema Service Engineer in Dubai is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and supporting that equipment across Majid Al Futtaim’s cinema locations.

The work mixes scheduled preventive maintenance with reactive troubleshooting: keeping projection, audio, and networking systems calibrated and running to spec, diagnosing and fixing faults when something goes wrong (sometimes under real time pressure if a screening is about to start), and supporting installations or upgrades as cinema technology evolves. The role requires both deep technical competence across multiple equipment types and the composure to work fast when a fault needs fixing before the next showtime.

Because this sits within MAF Entertainment’s cinema operation specifically, the engineer is working across specialized, often proprietary digital cinema systems rather than generic AV equipment, which calls for a more specialized technical skill set than general building maintenance.

It suits a hands-on technical engineer who’s comfortable across electronics, networking, and AV systems, and who can stay composed and methodical when troubleshooting under time pressure.

## Requirements

- Technical qualification or equivalent experience in electronics, AV systems, networking, or a related engineering discipline

- Hands-on experience with digital cinema projection, audio, or networking equipment, or strong transferable experience in similarly specialized AV/technical systems

- Strong fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work quickly and methodically under time pressure

- Comfort with both scheduled preventive maintenance and reactive emergency repairs

- Willingness to work flexible hours aligned with cinema operating schedules, including evenings and weekends

- Clear communication skills for coordinating with cinema operations staff during live technical issues
