# Chemistry Teachers – GEMS Education

GEMS Education is hiring a Chemistry Teacher for one of its Dubai schools, delivering instruction within an international curriculum such as IB, British, or American, depending on the school. The role covers secondary or senior-level Chemistry teaching, including both classroom theory and laboratory practical work.

Day to day, the teacher plans and delivers Chemistry lessons aligned with curriculum standards, runs safe and effective laboratory practicals, assesses student progress and exam readiness, and supports learners through to their external examinations. As with other subjects across GEMS schools, teaching is expected to uphold the values of GEMS Education and, where applicable, the IB Learner Profile — developing genuinely curious, capable science students rather than only exam-focused ones.

This role suits a qualified Chemistry teacher with international curriculum experience who’s comfortable managing laboratory safety and practical work alongside strong theoretical teaching. Chemistry’s blend of abstract concepts and hands-on experimentation means the strongest candidates can move fluidly between both, keeping students engaged through both modes of learning.

## Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field

- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent)

- Experience teaching Chemistry within an international curriculum (IB, British, or American system)

- Strong laboratory safety knowledge and practical teaching experience

- Experience preparing students for external Chemistry examinations

- Ability to make abstract chemical concepts clear and engaging

- Genuine commitment to inquiry-based, student-centered science teaching
