# Category Manager – Private Labels, Amazon Now (AE) – Amazon

Amazon Now is Amazon’s quick-commerce push in the UAE, and this Category Manager role sits inside the private-label side of that business — the part responsible for building and growing Amazon’s own-brand assortment rather than reselling third-party inventory. It is a commercial role first: the person in this seat owns a slice of the private-label portfolio end to end, from what gets stocked to how it is priced and how it performs.

Day to day, the work is a mix of supplier sourcing and negotiation, assortment planning, pricing and margin management, and demand forecasting, all done in close coordination with supply chain, operations and marketing teams who need to move at quick-commerce speed. Expect frequent vendor conversations, regular reviews of sales and margin data, and a fair amount of problem-solving when a product isn’t performing or a supplier can’t hit a delivery window.

It suits someone who has already worked in category management, retail buying or FMCG commercial roles and is comfortable owning a P&L rather than just influencing one. Amazon Now is still a young, fast-scaling business within Amazon’s MENA operation, so the role rewards people who are decisive with incomplete data and willing to build process rather than just follow it.

The appeal for the right candidate is the scope: private-label category management inside a business growing as quickly as Amazon Now gives someone commercial ownership and brand-building exposure earlier than a comparable role at a more mature retailer would.

## Requirements

- Experience in category management, retail buying, or private-label/FMCG commercial roles

- Track record of owning a P&L or margin target, not just supporting one

- Strong supplier and vendor negotiation skills

- Comfort working with sales, margin and inventory data to make assortment decisions

- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field

- Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with data tools used for pricing and demand analysis

- Experience in e-commerce or quick-commerce is an advantage

- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain and marketing teams
