# BIE engineer- UAE National – Amazon

This Business Intelligence Engineer role sits inside Amazon’s Ultra-Fast Grocery team in Dubai, the group responsible for keeping same-day and rapid grocery delivery running on time and on budget across the UAE. The position is part of Amazon’s Emiratisation hiring track, aimed at UAE Nationals building a long-term analytics career inside one of the region’s largest e-commerce operations.

Day to day, the engineer builds and maintains the reports and dashboards that feed weekly business reviews for the Ultra-Fast Grocery leadership team, turning raw operational data — order volumes, delivery timing, stock availability — into numbers people can act on. A large part of the job is automation: replacing manual spreadsheet pulls with repeatable, scheduled reporting so the team spends its time interpreting data rather than assembling it. That means writing and maintaining SQL queries against large operational datasets, building dashboards in Amazon’s internal BI tooling, and partnering with operations, finance, and category managers to understand what they actually need to see.

## Requirements

- Strong working knowledge of SQL for querying and joining large operational datasets

- Experience building dashboards and reports (e.g. QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tooling)

- Comfort with Excel or Python for data cleaning and light automation

- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, engineering, computer science, or business analytics

- Clear written and verbal communication for presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders

- Ability to work with retail, logistics, or e-commerce operational data is a plus
