About the Role
The Business Development Manager — Electrical Trading is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding the company’s market presence across the GCC and broader MENA region, and leading strategic partnerships with manufacturers, distributors, and end-clients in the electrical equipment sector. A critical dimension of this role is overseeing product certification support processes, ensuring all traded electrical products comply with applicable regional and international standards (e.g., ESMA, DEWA, SASO, IEC, CE, UL) before market entry. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of electrical products with proven commercial acumen and regulatory awareness.
• Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across the UAE & GCC & Africa for the full electrical product portfolio (switchgear, cables, lighting, distribution boards, wiring accessories, automation components, etc.).
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with EPC contractors, MEP consultants, government utility bodies, real estate developers, and tier-1 distributors.
• Lead the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting and technical presentations through to contract negotiation and post-sale account management.
Key Responsibilities
- • Develop annual revenue targets and territory plans in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. • Conduct market intelligence activities — tracking competitor pricing, product launches, and demand trends — and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
- • Act as the internal champion for product compliance, coordinating with manufacturers, third party testing labs (e.g., TÜV, Intertek, SGS, Bureau Veritas), and local regulatory authorities to obtain and maintain required certifications.
- • Manage the full certification lifecycle for new and existing product lines: gap analysis, documentation preparation, lab testing coordination, regulatory submission, and certificate renewal tracking.
- • Ensure all products listed in the trading catalogue meet the mandatory requirements of target markets, including ESMA (UAE), SASO (Saudi Arabia), GSO (GCC Standardization), CE (Europe), and IEC/EN standards as applicable.
