Role Description
Mignon is hiring an Accountant & Project Cost Controller to manage the financial operations of both the construction company and the digital marketing agency. This is a hands-on, high-ownership finance role for someone who wants full visibility into business finances — going beyond basic bookkeeping to actively help leadership understand profitability, cost control, and financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping in Zoho Books
- Enter and reconcile supplier bills, invoices, payments, and company expenses
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, petty cash, and supplier balances
- Use Zoho tags/projects to track costs by company, project, trade, and category
- Track construction project costs including labour, materials, subcontractors, and permits
- Prepare weekly cost reports showing spending by project and category
- Track project budgets vs actuals and flag overruns
- Handle UAE corporate tax, VAT, and compliance requirements
- Prepare simple weekly cash flow and management reports
Requirements
- 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Zoho Books experience preferred; QuickBooks or Xero also acceptable
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Construction, fit-out, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred
- Good understanding of UAE VAT and corporate tax documentation
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage messy financial records
