flydubai to Add Dedicated Freighter Operations in October 2026
flydubai plans to start dedicated cargo flights on 1 October 2026, adding three Boeing 737-800 freighters through a wet-lease agreement with SolitAir. The airline announced the move on 11 September as an expansion of its freight business alongside the cargo space already available on passenger aircraft.
According to the Dubai Media Office, each freighter will provide about 23,000 kg of payload capacity per flight. The initial fleet is intended to add main-deck cargo capacity ahead of the year-end peak season. flydubai also said it may evaluate passenger-to-freighter conversions from 2029.
The expansion is a significant operational shift for the Dubai carrier and for businesses moving goods through the city. The announcement does not specify new job openings, so candidates interested in cargo and logistics roles should check flydubai’s careers channels for confirmed vacancies.
